You have summed up pretty well how I really feel about the game. Once I realised I didn"t care about decorating my home or talking to villagers, and that"s exactly what the whole game is, I gave up.
I believe my shifting taste in games also contributed a huge part in my lack of interest in the most AC entrance, but you"re right. If you don"t delight in making the town/your house look nice there really isn"t a whole lot to do besides complete the museum once more.
Oddly enough, what that I missed most about this match was that the mundanity of it. I didn"t play much of the later entries either, but I loved booting up that original GC game and just watering my plants, speaking to my villagers, and assessing out the store. It was so simple and so calming. I"d look forward to in-game events for a whole week, or become so excited when a guest NPC was around the island. I didn"t have to do anything except be a villager, and revel in my life.
Being designated the Legal Ruling Master? Of an entire island was too much. Unexpectedly, the island aesthetic was my occupation. Where before, a wonky copse of trees or a poorly-placed path was just the way life was, now it is really my job to fix it. And not just fix it, but make it pristine. To be a fascination. To be a tourist destination.
And I really don"t need that. I would like a cute little home and a daily regimen, using a group of fun neighbours (and maybe one or two who are jerks, but hey, that is life). It got too complicated.
I really don"t think that is too odd. Lots of individuals like mundanity in their matches, seem at Euro Truck Simulator or just how many people like to RP standard jobs in a variety of games.
If I"m remembering correctly the entire original goal Animal Crossing was going to recreate the sensation of moving into a brand-new city irl. Not everyone likes you and you are going to feel somewhat alone, but you slowly make your house simpler, you get to know folks, and you really begin to adore the place you are living in, faults and all.
